Which course format should I choose: intensive, evening, online, or 1:1?
Choose an intensive course if you want fast progress and can study in the morning (Mon–Thu, 10:00–12:30).
Choose an evening course if you work/study during the day (2 evenings/week, 19:00–20:30).
Choose an online course if you need location flexibility (speaking/listening/communication focus via video tools).
Choose private lessons if you have a specific goal (family, travel, business) or need a fully tailored pace and schedule (flexible Mon–Fri, individualized content).
How big are the groups - will I actually get speaking time?
For intensive and evening courses, the group size is listed as 4-12 learners, typically 5-7 on average.
Is the focus really on speaking, or mostly grammar?
The most effective approach balances both. Turkish grammar is essential because suffixes form the backbone of the language, but speaking practice makes it automatic. Ideally, grammar is introduced briefly, turned into sentence patterns, and applied immediately in roleplays or discussions.
Is Duolingo + watching Turkish shows enough, or do I need a course?
Apps and shows are great for motivation, vocabulary, and ear training, but courses provide structure, feedback, and real conversation. If your goal is to hold natural conversations, live speaking practice with corrections is usually necessary.
